Keisha Hill, MPA - Board Chair
Ms. Keisha Hill empowers youth and young adults across Louisiana by equipping them with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to succeed in today’s workforce. As the founder of Cornerstone Community Youth Organization, she helps young people overcome challenges, realize their potential, and become self-sufficient, career-ready leaders. A passionate advocate for workforce development and education, Ms. Hill draws inspiration from her children’s dedication to learning and growth. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Southern University and A&M College and brings extensive experience as a mother, business leader, and human resources professional. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership to further strengthen her ability to lead and inspire the next generation. Ms. Hill’s leadership focuses on career readiness, community engagement, and economic empowerment, ensuring young people have the resources and support to build a strong, sustainable future.
Kevin Hill - CCYO Board of Directors
Mr. Kevin Hill is a powerful voice for reform and a passionate advocate for helping youth make better life choices. As someone who has experienced incarceration firsthand, Mr. Hill brings invaluable insight into how we can better support and guide young people, helping them avoid the mistakes that can lead to a life behind bars. Through his speaking engagements, Mr. Hill works to empower youth, sharing his story and offering guidance on making positive decisions. His mission is to show young people that there is always a path forward, no matter the challenges they face. Mr. Hill’s work is focused on creating pathways for success, helping youth build brighter futures and avoid the pitfalls of the justice system.
Ms. Yumeca Carter - CCYO Board of Directors
Ms. Yumeca Carter is deeply passionate about training and development, with many years of experience in the field. Her extensive background has shaped her belief in the power of education and skills training to unlock opportunities for individuals, especially youth. Currently pursuing her entrepreneurial goals, Ms. Carter is dedicated to creating solutions that help prepare young people for the workforce. She believes in equipping youth with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their careers and become leaders in their communities. Ms. Carter’s work is centered around empowering the next generation to step confidently into the workforce, ensuring they are ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
Ms. Kayla McVay - CCYO Board of Directors
Ms. Kayla McVay is a dedicated PhD student at the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in School Psychology. With a passion for helping students overcome learning challenges, Ms. McVay brings valuable insight into understanding and addressing underlying conditions that can affect a student's ability to learn. Her academic journey and commitment to studying school psychology allow her to contribute a deep understanding of how to support students with diverse needs. Ms. McVay is dedicated to improving the educational experience for all students and working toward solutions that promote success, no matter the barriers they may face.
